Bunker Paradise

"Planetary networking sets the stage for a total accident" (Paul Virilio)

The explosion has just taken place! The eye is no longer in the tomb watching Cain. It's up in the sky, watching over mankind, scrutinizing even the smallest corners of the world for those who resist the new order, in search of some fleeting paradise, perhaps lost forever. There's nowhere else! We're locked up in the world. Entrenched in our inner fortresses, at a social distance from the viral threat, human, all too human. We're caught up in the illusion of the rampart that precipitates us into the virtual. At the risk of a synthetic sociality and a devastated reality. But it's for our own good... To your bunkers, ladies and gentlemen!

A soundscape written during the confinement of 2020, in the light of the thoughts of Jean Baudrillard and Paul Virilio who, long before this viral explosion, foresaw this neo-world as it was taking shape... "Bunker Paradise" is supported by the Fonds d'Aide à la Création Radiophonique (FACR) 2021. Produced by Across Stickos, Brussels. Broadcast on 26/02/2024 at 4pm on Radio Campus Bruxelles.

Good Morning Fukushima!

A few sound particles in the radio-active silence of the atom... Soundscape (13'). Broadcast by Radio Campus Rennes and Radio Campus Bruxelles

Eternity or elsewhere...

Eternity as a bulwark against the confusion of the present? Set course for the archipelago of the Aeolian Islands, dominated by the Stromboli volcano, which has been active for over 2,000 years. Almost an eternity... One of the few other places in our latitudes, cradled by the Mediterranean, crossed by the winds and haunted by legendary heroes. These islands exude a rare poetic force that has inspired fiction since the dawn of time. Today, in a world in crisis, lined up in marching order towards the all-sanitary and ultra-secure, does this archipelago still represent a possible "elsewhere"?

Let's board immediately for this azure sea of fire and ashes, for a sonic voyage downwind, between reality and fiction, listening to a land that breathes, smokes, explodes and tells the story of an eternity that is terribly alive, but perhaps on borrowed time....
