C(hemins de) V(ie...)

As a writer-journalist and film-maker, I use my pen, my camera and my microphone to explore geographical and human horizons that open the door to dreams and poetry, but also to analysis of the issues that run through them... Passionate about the polar regions and geopolitics, I have devoted numerous articles to them (Grands Reportages, Le Monde Diplomatique, VSD...). In winter 2008, I was lucky enough to board the Russian cargo ship "Ivan Papanin" bound for Antarctica. It was an opportunity for me to realize an old dream, but also to get behind the camera for the first time to shoot "Par-delà les banquises" (13'), thanks to the support of the International Polar Foundation and SCAM France.

From this trip, I also brought back sounds and produced a sound piece "Vers la forteresse blanche" (40'), for "Ouïe Dire" on La Première, in 2011. "Vers la forteresse blanche" was also broadcast on Radio Campus Bruxelles in February 2019. Also on this excellent radio station, which gives pride of place to sound experimentation, a few radioactive particles in the silence of the atom: "Good Morning Fukushima" (13') , produced following the explosion at the Fukushima power plant in 2011.

My soundscape "Russie, le sacre du Phoenix" (59') with the Belgian production company "Across Stickos" was awarded the Fonds D'aide à la Création Radiophonique (FACR) and the support of the Russian Embassy in Brussels. Broadcast by RTBF La Première (26/06/2023), Radio Panik (9/05/2023), Radio Campus Bruxelles (24/04/2023). and Radio Vostock

For another "geopoetic" project, I'm looking for an embarkation point for the Northern Sea Route. This new sea route skirts Siberia and links the North Atlantic to the Pacific. A new geography... An elsewhere. One of the last. Of those worth all the detours... and all the patience!

A little out of my field, the coronavirus crisis almost forced me to react. Faced with the ambient cacophony, which was ultimately muted, the luminous reunion with the thoughts of Jean Baudrillard and Paul Virilio inspired the impetus for this sound creation project. "Bunker Paradise" wasn't really on my agenda. But the desire to give voice to these beautiful altitudes and to get people thinking about this neo-world won out (temporarily) over the boreal whiteness. This project was supported by the Fonds d'Aide à la Création Radiophonique (FACR 2021). Produced by Across Stickos (Brussels). Broadcast on 26/02/2024 Radio Campus Brussels

My trip aboard the Transcanadien in winter 2023 inspired a project called "Lost Railway", which I'm currently developing, as well as a radio documentary (26'). Broadcast on "Transversales" La Première (RTBF) on 15/06/2024
